Zig and Elbows

Ziggy you were so funny today...you touched the loose skin on my elbow and said "yuk". Then you examined my arm further and then the other and then your own (yours is smooth and tight). I think you were grossed out by elbows. It was quite funny!

Thursday and 40 degrees

Well Sass and Zig - you are now 2 and what fantastic little two year olds you are. You are speaking really well, you can count to 10 and you know the first bit of the alphabet.

We have just been camping for a week in Narooma, NSW with Jane, Lars, Jack, Harry and Tom. It turns out that you are little water babies and you love swimming. You also like being nude - in fact you like to take your clothes off and say "nudie bum time"! You both were the nudesters of the caravan park.

Today, Thursday, is my day off and I get you all to myself. I love Monday and Thursday (mummy Kat). It's 40 degrees today and we have been to the park with olive and James and also Fitzroy pool. This afternoon we are chilling out in a paddling pool on the deck (shaded by a sheet) with our dogs Jassy and Ned.

Ziggy hugs

Hey little miss ziggy, this one's for you!

It was my 35th birthday today and you are 17 months old. You have one big sleep in the middle of the day at this age and today you woke up before sass. When I brought you out to the lounge room and we sat in the late autumn sun you gave me the best birthday present - about 10 minutes of squishy, squeezy, absolutely beautiful cuddles. It was gorgeous. You are a lovely little girl. So full of character and determination already. You are very loved by us - we think you are great x

March 2012

Well life with Saskia and Zara is just lovely right now.  The girls are the sweetest little poppets.  Our daily routine at the moment consists of rising at approx. 6.30, having some breakfast and a play, getting dressed and heading out for a morning play at Edinburgh Gardens.  The favourite piece of play equipment is by far the seesaw, followed closely by the slide.  The swing gets a look in too from time to time.  Then lunch, a long sleep and then out we go again if the weather is nice...often to the park, sometimes to library reading time for stories and songs.  If it is Mummy-Al Wednesday then there might be a trip to the zoo involved.  Into bed at about 7.30pm.

Saskia is very keen on using words, Zara is not as chatty but very capable and so far we have heard Mummy, Dog, Jasper (per!), Nana (for banana), cheese, shoes (favourite item and favourite word!) and many other sounds. They are both also fans of stylish hats and are both very determined to dress themselves each day.  Independent ladies!

 

A year in Uggboots and Birkenstocks...part 1

Well this is my maiden post, being a blog-virgin and I am hoping some words will start to form in my mind that might be remotely interesting!  


Seven months ago life altered dramatically with the arrival of Saskia and Zara - two lovely little individuals.  Alex and I had been wanting to start a family for a while and finally the stars aligned...or something along those lines. It was quite a shock to discover two babies forming rather than your standard one.
